Having already done performances for ‘Millers’ ‘Jagameister’ ‘Chevrolet’ ‘MetroFM’ ‘Ama Kip Kip’ ‘YFM’ ‘MTV Base’ and performing all around the country with over 100 shows already under their belts in 2010. Performing alongside Tuks, HHP, JR, Kwela Tebza, Skwatta Kamp and international Hip Hop act Maino. The first single ‘Treat u like Gold’ is getting lots of love from Metro FM and Umlobo Wenene FM with their second single ‘C’mon C’mon’ already playlisted by YFM and 5FM, it is clear that Black Gold are onto something. The five man crew are produced by 37MPH South Africa’s most consistent producing phenom (JR, JOZI, MORAFE, ZULUBOY and HHP) with additional production by SAMA award winning producer extroidinaire CARAMEL (P.O.C, Black Noise, Claire Philips) and together with Black Gold they are redefining South African HIP HOP using samples that are all local and reminiscent of the music that was playing whilst they where growing up and fusing it with everything from Traditional to Motswako to Underground to Hardcore to NeoSoul, whilst holding everything together with a commercial Hip Hop super glue.

After long negotiations with many labels have decided to release their debut album ‘WELCOME TO THE FAMILY’ with DALOM MUSIC, owned by the infamous Southern African musical Legend Dan Tshanda, the man behind some of South Africa’s biggest groups namely SPLASH, DALOM KIDS, PEACOCK and MATSHIKOS, along with his own many solo multi-platinum releases. Dan Tshanda, having been captivated by the way were able to mix the new with the old in their music and how they respectfully paid tribute to himself and other South African musical legends while maintaining a
worldly commercial modern sound, has taken BLACK GOLD under his wing and along with SPLASH will be touring the country with them to promote this historical union.
